Mt. Umunhum- 2019

For the first 6 pack of peaks hike of the year, Karl (fellow ambassador) put together a fun Sunday morning hike. Our group had 5 people, which is a big change from my usual solo hikes! We expected rain but thankfully there was no rain, and while the skies weren’t completely clear, we could see San Francisco in one direction, Santa Cruz in another, and from another, all the way to the Sierras capped with a little bit of snow!

I got there a bit late but managed to catch up to the group after a little bit of trail running. I haven’t run in a while so it was fun but pretty tiring. One of the group members knew a lot of the history of Mt. Umunhum, and it was really interesting to hear all about the history of this area!

This was a great start to the 2019 six pack of peaks and I am looking forward to completing more hikes soon!

As you may know, I am moving to Montana in the middle of February and because of this, I am setting an ambitious goal of finishing the six-pack of peaks by the time I leave! This marks one down and five to go, with 33 days until I move!
